How to play Minecraft in Virtual Reality

Vivecraft is a mod that turns Minecraft into an exceptional VR experience in room-scale or seated play.
This allows you to play Minecraft on the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, Google Cardboard, and more.

Vivecraft requires the original PC Java edition of Minecraft.

Vivecraft supports versions, 1.11.2 and 1.12.2 of Minecraft.

Vivecraft works best in roomscale with the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift+Touch. Vivecraft also supports Cardboard-style HMDs, PSVR and GearVR through SteamVR emulators.

Vivecraft works in single or multiplayer.

All versions of Vivecraft include Optifine for performance and support shaders.

The Forge modding platform is supported on all versions.

Server plugins are available for Spigot and Forge to enhance your VR multiplayer experience.

Are you a streamer? Vivecraft supports Mixed Realityand undistorted desktop mirroring.

The Vivecraft NonVR Companion mod allows your non-vr friends to see your head and hand movements in multiplayer

Optimized for standing play with motion controllers, also supports seated play with mouse & keyboard.

  • Feed animals, mount horses, and fill buckets just by touching!
  • Play with your friends and see each other’s VR movements. (even for 2d players!)
  • Multiple VR locomotion options for your preferred playstyle:
    • Arc teleportation (with optional limitations for a balanced survival experience).
    • Free-movement in the direction you are pointing the controller or your head.
    • Walkabout-style of rotation to use 100% room-scale movement.

Vivecraft started out as Minecrift by mabrowning and StellaArtois. Originally a seated VR mod for the Oculus Rift development kits, it was later ported to OpenVR by Automat-GH, who added the original implementations of teleporting and hand swinging under the name Minecrift-Vive. Currently it is being updated by jrbudda and Techjarwho have added many features and improved compatibility with the Minecraft community. The project is now Vivecraftto help differentiate from the previous versions.
